How Ablakwa used Mzbel's 'suicide' comment to slam Bryan Acheampong over increased food prices

Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has entered the discussion on the rising food prices that are causing distress among citizens.

Ablakwa shared a post on X, highlighting a GhanaWeb headline featuring Mzbel's dismay at the cost of a single tomato being GH¢5.

"Should we commit suicide? – Mzbel questions as price of single tomato hits GhC5," the post read.

The MP then criticized the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, for not addressing the surge in food prices but instead focusing on acquiring SSNIT-owned hotels for personal gain.

Ablakwa emphasized the urgent need for government action to mitigate the impact of escalating food prices on the populace.

“It is a national tragedy that instead of Ghana’s Food & Agriculture Minister, Bryan Acheampong concentrating on urgent policy interventions to resolve skyrocketing food prices, his focus is rather on an ill-fated effort to purchase our SSNIT hotels, as he refuses to back out of the stinking transaction which has outraged many Ghanaians, and been equally condemned by organized labor,” Ablakwa wrote on X.

Meanwhile, pressure is mounting on Bryan Acheampong to address the food price inflation as citizens struggle with the economic situation.

Mzbel, along with other celebrities, has expressed frustration over the cost of living and its adverse effects on their lives.
