Asokore (Ash), Nov 30, GNA - The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Asokore T.I. Ahmadiyya Secondary School has undertaken some development projects at a cost of 1.2 billion cedis to facilitate teaching and learning.

The projects include a science laboratory, a computer laboratory equipped with 21 computers and accessories, expansion of the boys and girls dormitories, dining hall and kitchen and the purchase of 100-seater school bus.

The PTA has also started the construction of a six-unit teachers' bungalow.

Inaugurating the projects at Asokore at the weekend, Mr Hakeem Baidoo, chairman of the PTA, commended members for their resolve to step up efforts to improve upon facilities in the school.

Mr Iddrisu Yeboah Druye, the Headmaster of the school, said despite the fact that the school fell within the category of the less endowed schools, it had chalked some successes in recent times. He said that the school scored 95 per cent passes at this year's Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) and that 10 of the students gained admission into the universities.

Mr Druye commended the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) for admitting three needy but brilliant students from the school this year.
