The Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini, has recounted how a woman attempted to transfer votes from his constituency to another under pretense.

According to him, the woman gathered several women with the promise of providing them jobs in Techiman, hence the need for them to transfer their votes.

He added that after the constituents noticed some suspicious behaviour from the woman, they attempted to lynch her until he intervened.

Following an investigation into the matter, the woman claimed she was transferring votes to support her brother, who was contesting a parliamentary seat, he added.

Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on August 28, he said, "In my constituency, for instance, I had to intervene to save a lady who was almost lynched because she had gotten a bus and went to pick young women who were being trained in hairdressing and sewing. She assured them she had jobs for them in Techiman and added that she was taking them to Techiman to transfer their votes to secure the jobs there.

"When we interrogated her, she confessed that she was an NDC person and the Techiman MP was her brother.

"She added that she was seeking to transfer these people to help her brother.

"After investigations, it turned out that nobody knew her, so it was a deliberate political strategy just to transfer our people from strongholds," he shared.

He urged the EC to look out for unauthorized individuals who transfer voters based on inducement and lack of knowledge of the voters.
