Kofi Akpaloo, the leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), has promised Ghanaians below 18 years and those above 18 years but who are unemployed, a monthly allowance if he is elected as president.

According to the LPG leader, Ghanaians below 18 years will get a monthly allowance of GH¢500 while those above 18 years and unemployed will get GH¢700.

In videos that have been shared online, Akpaloo is heard saying, “Below 18 years will receive GH¢500 every month and those above 18 years who are not working will get GH¢700 every month.”

“It's cedis that we are going to use to pay. We are not going to use dollars; it's cedis. Ghana is the only country where we use cedis. We don’t use cedis anywhere [else]. And who controls the cedis? It is the government of Ghana who controls the cedis. So, money is not a problem. Money can never be a problem,” he said in response to how he is going to fulfill that promise.

Akpaoloo has since submitted his presidential nomination forms to the Electoral Commission Head Office in Accra.
