Mohammed was apprehended in his hideout at Aboabo No. 1 during a special police operation
The Ashanti Regional Police Command says it has made a major breakthrough in its fight against illicit drug trade with the arrest of a suspected key dealer, 29-year-old Adam Mohammed.
According to dailyguidenetwork.com, Mohammed was apprehended in his hideout at Aboabo No. 1 during a special police operation at 10:00 PM on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
DSP Godwin Ahianyo of the Ashanti Regional Police Public Affairs Unit confirmed that a substantial quantity of suspected illicit drugs and cash were recovered from Mohammed, who is currently assisting police with investigations.
Among the items the police seized were: 35 packs of 250mg Tramadol, 28 packs of 120mg Tramadol, 11 packs of 225mg Tramadol, and approximately 50 empty cartons used for packaging and transporting the drugs.
DSP Ahianyo further revealed that GH¢66,950.00 was recovered from Mohammed’s room following his arrest.
“Additionally, an amount of sixty-six thousand nine hundred and fifty Ghana cedis (GH¢66,950.00) was discovered in the suspect’s room.
“The cash is believed to be proceeds from the sale of the illicit drugs and has been retrieved for evidential purposes,” he said, adding that the suspect is in custody and assisting investigations.
DSP Ahianyo also narrated that; “All exhibits, including the narcotic substances and the cash, have been secured for further investigation and legal proceedings.”
