The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has taken a swipe at the Bono Regional Chairman of the party, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, over allegations the latter made against him.

Speaking in an interview on Net2 TV on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Kodua Frimpong refuted Abronye’s claim that he seized a report by the disciplinary committee of the party that recommended the sacking of Kennedy Agyapong, a flagbearer hopeful of the party.

“In 2023, when Ken Agyapong made his ‘showdown’ threat, I went to sit with him and told him what he did was wrong and took him to the disciplinary committee. When he went to the disciplinary committee, they spoke to him, and the recommendation they made was that they had cautioned him not to make such statements because he (Ken) was a leader of the party.

“Then Abronye goes to sit on TV and say, the recommendation given by the party was that he (Ken) should be removed from the party… and that the report was given to me and I have sat on it,” he said in the Twi dialect.

The NPP General Secretary pointed out that Abronye, as a party leader, should not be making such comments.

He indicated that the actions of the Bono Regional Chairman constitute misconduct that he must be dealt with.

“How can a regional chairman sit down and say that the disciplinary committee has brought a report that says that a party leader should be sacked, while there is no such report? And you would also mention the name of the General Secretary, saying that I’m the one who is preventing the report from coming out.

“This is not mere disinformation; you are attacking a person. It is a direct attack because you mentioned the names of some people, and it is a breach of duty as a member of the party,” he said.

What Abronye said:

Abronye DC alleged that Frimpong was holding on to the 2023 Disciplinary Committee report concerning NPP flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Agyapong.

According to Abronye DC, the party's disciplinary committee had prepared a report highlighting certain members whose actions, he claims, are harming the party.

"The 2023 disciplinary report recommends that Kennedy Agyapong should be sacked from the NPP because he is damaging the party and engaging in anti-party behaviour," Abronye DC said.

He further alleged that Justin Kodua is protecting Agyapong, preventing the report from being acted upon.

"Justin Kodua is the one saving him. Assin Dompo, the destroyer who sold the NPP's seat to A Plus... The report is with Justin Kodua, and he is sitting on it. He is the only person who knows why he is keeping it, and there will be a time when we will ask him about it.

"The party has structures, so why would he keep the report to himself instead of laying it before the national executives or council? The report detailed all of Agyapong's anti-party conduct," Abronye DC added.
