Hundreds of children of Ketu South in the Volta Region have joined Ms Dzifa Gomashie, the National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate of the Constituency, to celebrate Christmas.

The celebration, held at Aflao, was full of joy as the children participated in various activities such as dancing competition, sack race, and lime and spoon fast walk.

They were feasted to delicacies and drinks while the winners in the competitions received exercise books among other prizes.

Ms Gomashie assured the children of her support to see them through their academic pursuits and urged them to study hard towards achieving their dreams.

She said they would be expected to bring their report cards to show as a ticket for their next event with her.

Ms Gomashie commended her partners; Values For Life, Young Educators Foundation, Promasidor Ghana Limited, Indomie, HealthiLife Drinks, Empire Cooking Oil and the Obaapa Development Foundation for making it possible to fete the children.

She also visited the Children's Ward of the Ketu South Municipal Hospital at Aflao, where she presented fresh fruits, soft drinks, toiletries and other items to the patients as well as the Outpatients Department, caregivers and hospital staff.

Ms Gomashie prayed that the smiles on the faces of the children would bring them healing and quick recovery to be reunited with their families.

She said Christmas was for sharing hence the get-together to put smiles on the faces of the children in the community and those on admission.

She commended the staff for the hardwork, promising to keep supporting the Hospital with her ‘widow’s might’ to ensure effective healthcare delivery.

The Providence Home Orphanage at Aflao was another beneficiary of Ms Gomashie’s gesture where she presented similar items to the children. Madam Helen King, the Director and Founder of the Orphanage, commended her for the kind gesture and her commitment to making the children happy.
