I.C Quaye is not a man of peace-NDC

The Central Ayawaso Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described their member of parliament Hon. I.C Quaye as an intemperate, intolerant and dangerous character who does not want anything positive for his neighbors.

According to them, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament do not believe in dialogue or duologue in solving problems and always want to use violence as a means of arriving at a solution.

They alleged that he always hires thugs and rioters to attack all who oppose, disagree or criticise him on issues concerning the development of the constituency.

The constituency stated that all who disagree with the 73 –year-old NPP MP are branded and considered as members of the opposition and are subjected to intimidation and violence from his thugs.

The Constituency recalled that in 2010 I.C Quaye labelled officials of Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) who were on a special operation concerning a public toilet facility at the Alajo Market as NDC members who want to hijack the toilet and gave the whole episode a political twist just to make the NDC unpopular. As if that was not enough, they added that I.C Quaye organised from outside the constituency mercenaries to attack the A.M.A officials and some NDC constituency executives in their shops in Alajo.

They continued that, the MP himself also assaulted the Nima divisional crime officer. Speaking to Radio Gold the constituency secretary of the Ayawaso Central NDC Victor Quarshie Adonoo accused the M.P and his cronies of hijacking the Alajo Town Development Association (ATDA).

‘’The community has no say in the day to day activities of the association, more so no account had been rendered since the association was formed’’ Adonoo said He mentioned that the junior brother of the NPP MP Mohammed Quaye is the chairman of the association, the brother -in -law, Seidu are the only three persons who take decisions for the association and are also hijacking properties belonging to the Alajo community.

He said the attitude and demeanour of I.C quaye if not changed will adversely affect the Alajo community and the constituency at large. ‘’we will not take the laws in our hands but will collaborate with the police to ensure I.C Quaye is made to obey the laws of the land and respect human dignity’’ the constituency secretary fumed.
