A former Director of the Research Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affair, Mr. J. K. Mensah has denied owning a house in the United States of America as published by this paper on June 29, 2009.
In a letter to the editor of this paper, the lawyer of Mr. Mensah, E. Owusu-Fordwouh of E. Owusu Fordwouh & Co. Owuduo Chambers, Mr. Mensah said he does “…not and never owned a property, moveable or immoveable outside the Republic of Ghana” and “…has never been involved in the management and decision making process regarding the affairs of Ghana diplomatic missions outside Ghana since 1980”
The letter goes on to explain that he “has a son who is married to an American. The son possesses an American green card. He has worked at “Delloitte & Touche and the French Electricity Company in the U.S.A. with his accounting qualification.
His son and his wife raised mortgage for their property after ten years of living and working in America”
The rejoinder ends by saying that Mr. J. K. Mensah “is unable to comment on other published matters in view of the honourable “Statutory Limitations on Classified Information”
