The acting General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), James Kwabena Bomfeh says he has accepted in good faith, the decision of the Supreme Court on the State’s involvement in the construction of the National Cathedral.

He has however promised to incite some traditional priests in his hometown to petition President Akufo-Addo to construct a national shrine for them.

According to him, there was nothing he could do following the ruling, he will also lead a campaign to get a national shrine built for traditional priests.

Mr Bomfeh filed a suit at the apex court to prevent government from partaking in the construction of the 5,000-seater national cathedral.

He argued that Ghana was a secular state and, therefore, it was wrong for the state to be “excessively entangled in any religion or religious practice”

But the Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision on Wednesday, held that the decision of the state had not breached any constitutional provision.
