Black Stars striker, Inaki Williams has dedicated his dramatic Copa del Rey match winning goal against Valencia to his newborn son, following an emotional night for Athletic Club at Mestalla.
Inaki has struggled to make a meaningful impact in the current campaign, scoring just two goals in 21 appearances in all competitions.
However, he ended his goal drought on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, scoring a last-gasp goal to inspire his outfit to a crucial 2-1 victory against Valencia.
Speaking after the match, an emotional Williams dedicated his goal to his newborn son.
“He deserves all our respect. We deserved a moment of joy like this , the players, the fans, and the coaching staff. The first goal that I can dedicate to my son."
"The season has been difficult, but what happened today could be a major turning point,” Inaki Williams said.
Inaki, who captains the San Mames' outfit, recently welcomed his first child with his wife, Patricia Morales.
The couple named their baby boy Niko, a heartfelt tribute to Inaki’s younger brother and Athletic teammate, Nico Williams.
