Mr Thompson Tetteh Anum, Assembly Member Aspirant, Adjiringanor Electoral Area, has called on electorates of Adjiringanor to elect him in to office come December 17 as he is the right person to represent the area.
He said he is prepared to move the community forward as he would serve and work with all residents to ensure that the community does not lag behind in development.
Mr Anum, a paralegal, said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra.
With campaign message focusing on three thematic areas, youth empowerment, community development and good sanitation, the aspirant seeks to address the emerging needs of the community when elected.
The Adjiringanor Electoral Area, located at East Legon has both high class residential areas and squatters with four main communities- Adjiringanor, Tesa, Beijin and Otinshi.
Mr Anum said his main focus was to strengthen the resident associations and facilitate efforts to help the youths in the area to get meaningful vocational skills.
“I will get more residents to join the the area associations, help create new associations at areas where they don’t exist, and more importantly, solicit views from association members on ways to improve their areas”, he said.
Mr Anum said “with the help of the youth, I intend to approach all professionals in the area for assistance on ways to improve and sustain the development of the entire area and collaborate effectively with the Member of Parliament and the District Assembly to fund identified projects.
“We have a team of volunteers who will engage the youth and help them with a training scheme and the scheme will target the unemployed in the area”, he said.
Mr Anum said as the electoral area has been noted for good sanitation practices, the situation wouldn’t change in his tenure as residents would be urged to play their expected roles.
He said he would also organize frequent clean-up exercises to clear open drains and also provide bins that will purposely be used for plastic waste.
Mr Anum urged community members to decide on who they want to lead them, as he is one who would appreciate their challenges and bond with them.
