The Acting Chief of Kwaatwema in the Brong –Ahafo Region, Nana Okokyeredom Amankwa has openly declared his support for the Free SHS policy being proposed by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). According to him, he is convinced that the proposed policy by the NPP can be implemented in no time should Ghanaians vote them into power, adding he believed Nana Addo was not just making a political talk as being peddled by some other political parties.

He said the NPP had a track record of implementing such policies mentioning the NHIS, capitation grant, the National Youth Employment Programme among others.

Speaking to the constituents at Seketia, at a durbar to welcome the Presidential candidate of the NPP, the Acting Chief appealed to Nana Akufo-Addo to remember them by building a Senior High School in the area if the citizenry gave him the mandate come December 7, to rule the country.

Nana Okokyeredom Amankwa pointed out that Kwaatwema and its surrounding villages achieved a lot under former President Kufuor’s regime, adding, it was during that period that they had “good drinking water, electricity and good road”.

“Because of lack of a regulatory body, cashew farmers don’t get value for money”.

He said he will extend the mass spraying exercise to cashew farmers in order to improve yield and also promised to establish a new Board to handle the issues of cashew nut and maize.

To rapturous chants of ‘Free SHS’ and ‘We can do it’ in Suma Ahenkro, Nana Addo stated that the pledge of making Secondary Education Free was key to the development of Ghana into a first class society, adding that the NPP is committed to ensuring that the policy became a reality and that education in general received the necessary prioritization and resources.
