The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Korle Klottey constituency, Philip Addison, says given the myriad of challenges confronting the area, he would need the assistance of the central government to initiate developmental projects that will have greater impact on the lives of the people when given the mandate to serve them.

“I can’t solve all the problems confronting Korle Klottey constituency alone. I will need the central government to help in some projects that will bring meaningful impact on the lives of the people,” he noted.

Addison made this observation when contributing to discussions on issues relating to the Korle Klottey constituency on ‘Ghana Kasa’ on Kasapa 102.5 FM last Friday.

He had appeared on the News and Current Affairs program with three other candidates; Nii Noi Nortey, a former constituency chairman who broke away from the NPP and now going independent, Dr. Zenator Rawlings representing the NDC and another candidate from the GCPP, contesting for the parliamentary seat of the area.

He told the constituents that in order to achieve the best for the area, it behooves on them to vote massively for him and the party’s presidential candidate, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo during the December 7 general elections.

He said when given the mandate to serve, one of the key challenges confronting the constituency, flooding, will be a thing of the past.

“The NPP will tackle flooding in the constituency just like former President Kufuor did at Alajo some years ago when the party was in power. For eight years that the NPP was in power, Odawna wasn’t flooding. But when the NPP left office, Odawna has been flooding whenever it rains heavily. So, the first thing that we will do is to solve this problem when voted into office,” he noted.

Addison further noted that his office will also work hard to ensure that the unemployment issue confronting the youth in the constituency is curtailed.

“A lot of young men and women are jobless. So when we come to power, we are going to get them jobs to do under the one-district-one factory and one-million-one-constituency policies that will be introduced by Nana Akufo-Addo,” he added.
