Emmanuel Appiah, the visiting pastor at the Glorious Wave Church International, founded by Badu Kobi who recently was caught on tape being assaulted by some men for allegedly having a sexual encounter with a married woman has opened up on the effects the incident had on him.
Emmanuel Appiah explains the moment the leaked tape went viral, was very difficult for him and his family particularly his pregnant wife.
The spiritual son of Badu Kobi revealed that he contemplated taking his life as he couldn't imagine people watching him under such condition in the video.
The pastor noted that after the incident at the lady's house that was taped, and subsequently receiving medical attention and reporting to the police, he got back home to confess all that had happened to his wife.
This he said wasn't enough as a colleague pastor who had already gotten wind of the video, ordered his wife to forward it to my wife to have a look at it.
After watching the video and seeing what transpired and how I was treated in the video, I made up my mind to commit suicide.
It took divine intervention through a dream as he thought about how to go about the act that prevented him from continuing with his decision.
"As I sat in a car home after the event the first person I called was my wife to narrate to her all that had transpired. She is currently pregnant. I made her understand even everything even before getting home. It was after I got, later that day, that a colleague pastor of mine made the wife send the video to my wife but I made us watch it together.
As I watched the video and noticed the sequence of events I decided to kill myself. So I got out of the room into this hall trying to figure a way to kill myself. I eventually made up my mind to buy a rope and hang myself but suddenly I dozed off and fell asleep.
In my sleep, I saw Jesus Christ lying on a cross naked accompanied by a voice that said the Lord you follow was crucified naked on the cross, it was the soldiers who crucified him that gave him something to wear. It was that revelation that gave me strength" Emmanuel Appiah recounted.
He continued that his shock stricken wife could not believe what she watched and didn't utter a word to anyone afterwards.
The narration that accompanied the viral video that he had had an affair with a married woman according to the pastor left his wife dumbfounded as it was circulating across many social media platforms.
My 'daughter' feigned sickness to get me trapped and beaten
Providing details of the incident to Kofi Adomah of KofiTV, the guest pastor at the Glorious Wave Church International stated that he was compelled to visit the lady in question because she had complained of been ill for close to a week.
He stressed that the lady was a 21-year-old single lady whom he knew from Kumasi and had adopted as the daughter.
At a point the pastor revealed, he tried to play the role of a match-maker to assist her to enter a relationship with a gentleman friend of his who expressed a desire to settle.
Emmanuel Appiah suspects a deliberate plan to ambush and assault him pointing to the fact that the lady went in to change into a cloth after pleading to go take a shower because of the hot weather on his arrival at the house.
Not long after, according to Emmanuel Appiah, a woman entered the hall accusing the lady in question of not going to school but having sex with a man in the house.
The woman was followed in by three men wielding weapons and a man joined later making five. The woman he added was a known face and is the person who took a recording of all that happened there.
"I indicated to her that I will not be long because I have a meeting. It is for your sake I came here despite the fact that the meeting might have begun by now. She told me that she was feeling warm and needed to take a quick shower as the lights were off and admittedly that was the case.
When she returned in a cloth I was furious and yelled at her reminding her of my meeting and the fact that I don't intend staying for long. But she defended herself saying she had developed cough and feigned it in front of me showing me something like a cough syrup. I just accepted the excuse because I had no idea what her condition was" he told Kofi Adomah.
The pastor continued, "a woman suddenly rushed out from the room she went to fetch water to take the shower and shouted at her that she was here having sex with men when she was to be in school. I turned to the woman and quizzed the rationale of her question and challenged her to have a look at how I am dressed and my posturing and judge for herself if I had come to have sex or was having sex with anyone. All this time Deborah was silent and uttered no word. As we argued, three guys came out of the same room the woman emerged and began beating me. As I was being beaten I realised two other guys had come to join. One was wielding a knife, another a pestle, another a cane and one had a screwdriver with the last holding nothing. They beat me mercilessly and as they did I kept questioning Deborah of what I had done wrong and asking my assaulters what wrong I did them. I was dragged to the bedroom where the beating continued and that's where the video alleging I was caught in bed with another woman was captured"
