Parliamentary candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party in the Ewutu Senya West Constituency, George Nenyi Andah has dismissed reports he is resorting to personality attacks to score political points in the upcoming elections.
George Andah in a viral post on social media was heard asking Foreign Affairs minister and incumbent MP for the area to 'show her husband' shortly after he had introduced his wife to a crowd at a campaign rally.
Many have criticised and in some cases condemned the management consultant and aspiring legislator for the comments, but in a Facebook live post Friday afternoon, George Andah explained his position saying the move was not meant to be an attack on the incumbent MP.
According to him, his decision to introduce his wife to the audience was to dispel reports of his 'irresponsibility'. He says he subsequently decided to ask the whereabouts of his opponent's husband since he had not seen her campaign with him ever.
"I dint's say that she has a husband or she didn't have a husband. I showed my wife, there are issues going on that I am irresponsible and all I said was that I come to the constituency with my wife and kids... So if I bring Nana Addo to Bawjiase and I ask you to bring John Mahama to Bawjiase, will that be something we should say that I should apologize for? All I said was this is my wife, where is your husband?
He added "I don't have any confrontation with Hannah Tetteh... where is the attack? Do you see an attack in my statement?"
