A brother of former President John Dramani Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama, has dared the Special Prosecutor, Martin A.B. Amidu, to prosecute him if the State has any adverse findings against him rather than always prosecuting him in the media.

According to the business magnate, “he doesn’t fear prosecution,” daring the Akufo-Addo led-government to do its worse if, indeed, he had fraudulently benefitted from the State during the tenure of his brother.

Mr Mahama also rubbished suggestions that his brother’s presidency contributed to his success in businesses.

Mr Mahama, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Engineers and Planners, subsequently advised the youth to work hard for success instead of relying on politicians always for survival.

He made these observations while addressing graduate students of the University of Ghana, Legon, on how to become successful entrepreneurs at the 2018 GRASSAG Entrepreneurship Seminar recently in Accra.

He indicated that he became a wealthy man long before his senior brother, John Mahama, first contested an election to become a Member of Parliament (MP) in 1996.

“I want to set the record straight that I was who I was; I was successful. That’s why I can chop my money without looking back and thinking that Amidu is coming to call me. And that is the confidence I do have,” he said.

“I don’t go anyplace fearing my shadow, running away from my shadow. When I started business John Mahama hadn’t even picked up his forms to become MP,” the mining mogul indicated.

Mr Mahama also at the event announced that he will support 20 graduates with viable business ideas each with $2,000 to start businesses on their own.

He urged other successful businessmen and women in the country to do same.

“There are loads of very successful other businessmen who should listen to the youth. What the youth are looking for is $2000 or $3000. Let’s do what others did for the likes of us that helped us to start our businesses that have now become a monster. The business has grown beyond me so much so that even when I am not there, the business will stand on its feet,” he told journalists at the programme.
