'I don’t trust my team anymore' - Harrison Lartey

Richard Harrison Lartey, Ghana’s World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa Heavyweight champion has said, he has lost confidence in Cabic Promotions, following the failure of the company to secure British visa for his coach.

Harrison Lartey, was issued with a British visa on Thursday, ahead of his fight against highly rated British Daniel Dubois at Wembley, London, on Saturday, April 27, for the WBO Global Heavyweight title, but his coach Prince Owusu, was denied visa.

In an interview with the GNA Sport on Thursday, he confirmed that, his U.K Visa had been granted, but his coach was denied with the excuse from Cabic Promotions that, the British High Commission claimed, he won’t return to Ghana after the fight.

With just two days to the fight and weigh-in fixed for Friday, Lartey is uncertain of travelling, because he feels insecure without his coach.

He said “I can’t go without my coach. I feel insecure. My management team didn’t treat me well and I don’t trust them anymore. Even though I have had my Visa approved, I’m not happy because of my coach.

“How do you expect me to perform? They have to postpone the fight for things to be done properly.

“I want to go with my coach. He is the one who has prepared me to this level ahead of this fight and you want me to go into this bout without him. My management should tell me I should go and fight without my coach.”

Harrison Lartey, has won 14 out of 15 fights, so far and was looking forward to enhance his chances of getting a shot at the world title soon.
