President Flt. Lt. Rawlings has revealed that he spoke with God during the National Day of Thanksgiving at Koforidua recently, reports the Free Press.
"As I sat down at the service, I was hot listening to the music being played. I spoke with God and asked him why he allows the opposition and the private press to behave like they do", he said.
President Rawlings went on "while listening to God, I heard the devil and his men also making noise and causing commotion, so I said to myself, if even God has to tolerate the devil in heaven, why can't we tolerate the little devils on earth here".
The President of Ghana made these spiritual encounters known on Easter Saturday at Bepong - Kwahu during an NDC rally in the Eastern Region.
At the rally, the President reiterated his "I hate party politics" stance against violent protestations by Alhaji Issifu Ali, the NDC party chairman, who, kept nudging, but President Rawlings would not budge, "no let me tell them the truth, I hate party politics because it brings divisions amongst the people".
On allegations that the opposition had threatened to kill NDC executives and functionaries when they come to power, the President replied " we have the guns yet we've not done anything to them, if we were to do half of what they threaten against us, none of them would be here".
