The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has assured the people of Kwahu in the Eastern Region not to worry about developmental projects since his government has programmed some ambitious projects that will help transform their lives.

Addressing the people at this year’s Kwahu festival at Obomeng, Saturday, April 15, 2017, President Akufo-Addo said his government’s big plans will see Kwahu to being uplifted from its currest state to become one of the most vibrant local economies in the country.

For instance, he said his government will ensure the revival of the railways sector that see Kwahu being linked up with the country’s main economic hubs, Accra and Kumasi with ease.

By so doing, he said Kwahu will be much exposed to the business communities both locally and abroad for them to know the opportunities that exist in the area.

The Kwahu-Sekyere Afram Plains bridge across River Afram will also be constructed the farming communities to investors.

“When I went to Korea, I the huge bridge they have constructed. We are going to consult them for them to do same here,” he noted.

The cultivation of coffee which has been the cash crop production but which has in recent times experience some challenges as a result of lack of funding, the President noted will be revived under the planting for food and jobs program being spearheaded by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

The issue of Fulani herdsmen which has become a thorn in the flesh of those living in the Sekyere Afram Plains area, especially, Agogo and Kwahu, according to President Akufo-Addo, will be addressed holistically to bring to an end to the menance.

“We are going to find a proper cattle ranching policy to fight that will bring a lasting solution to the Fulaniherdsmen menance,” he stressed.

The issue of illegal mining, commonly known in the local language as ‘galamsey’ in the area, he noted, will also be addressed.
