Bryan Acheampong, aide to New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey is sure to disappoint a couple of Ghanaians, most notably, the Managing Editor of the Al-Hajj Newspaper, Alhaji Bature.

The Al-Hajj editor recently described the entire NPP as a “Women’s Fellowship” organization with no single man brave enough to face its self-acclaimed financier, but heaped praises on Bryan Acheampong for having the “balls” to stand up to Kennedy.

Bryan Acheampong who took to the defence of his boss noted that, Kennedy Agyapong recent unpardonable utterances and behaviour portrays that of an ingrate who has deliberately refused to acknowledge the contributions of others to the success of the party.

In an interview with Okay FM, Mr. Acheampong revealed that if he should expose Mr. Agyapong's past, many would be amazed how ungrateful he is.

He described Mr. Agyapong as a person who once lived like a “church mouse”.

According to him, the then “nonentity” Mr. Agyapong’s life only transformed remarkably when he became an MP on the ticket of the NPP and received offers from President Kufour to handle juicy contracts.

“I personally know about his (Kennedy Agyapong) past life and I would try very hard not to air it before he became an MP on the ticket of the NPP, we know how he lived. If today he can boast of splashing $20 million to destabilize Jake’s campaign, we would also make his life unbearable”, Mr. Acheampong vowed.

But speaking to Asempa FM, the once-daring Bryan Acheampong seems to be back-tracking.

He insists he never raised any doubt about the source of the NPP MP’s wealth.

“I have never questioned the source of wealth of Kennedy Agyapong…I have not questioned that and never attacked him. He is a hard-working man and owns companies. Nobody has ever questioned his source of wealth and I don’t intend to do that and I have not said that.

“…My only problem is his reason to set up $20 million funds to campaign against the NPP” he said

When asked whether he launched a scathing attack on the Assin Central MP, he replied, “that is not important now”.

It appears he is eating humble pie or perhaps wants the verbal altercation between him and Kennedy Agyapong to cease…only time will tell.
