Minister of Communication, Technology and Digital Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has penned an emotional farewell message to the memory of the Defence Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, following his tragic death in a helicopter crash.

According to him, the death of Dr Boamah has shaken his faith, scattering his conviction and belief about how Christians are encouraged to give thanks in all things.

Reacting to the death of the minister and how it has shaken his faith on his official social media platform X, he wrote, "We are told to give thanks in all things. How can I give thanks in this? How do I say it is well? It is certainly not well!?"

Sam George, in a desperate attempt to understand the tragic death of the man he called his boss, wrote, "My faith is shaken. My belief is gone."

He declared, "I have questions to ask God. Very serious questions… Just pick your call, boss."

"Kofi, why? How? This is not what we agreed!... What did you know that you hid from me? Rita and the kids? Who can be there for them like you? Oh, why? Who can be there for them like you?" he asked.

According to Sam George, Dr Omane Boamah played a critical role in his political career, with exceptional care for him and his family, disclosing that the late minister chose the school for his kids and inquired about their performance from him.

"No one has been of greater help or support to me in my political career. I call you Boss, and you call me Bro. You didn't just care about my politics; you cared and loved my family,” he continued.

Samuel Nartey George’s emotional tribute to the minister adds to several others that have been shared by many sympathizers whose hearts have been broken by the sudden death of the minister and seven others.

The crash of the Z9 helicopter, which belonged to the Ghana Armed Forces, claimed the lives of Defence Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah and Environment, Science and Technology Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.

Others are Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna, former Central Regional Minister Samuel Sarpong and Samuel Aboagye, a former parliamentary candidate.

Members of the helicopter’s crew are Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Malin Twum-Ampadu and Sgt Ernest Addo Mensah.
