Aspiring National Chairman for the Progressive People's Party, Nana Ofori Owusu has praised the seemingly heroic character of Deputy EC Commissioner, Georgina Opoku Amankwah over the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO).

The EOCO on Monday afternoon, January 15, 2018 stormed Mrs. Opoku Amankwah's office demanding her exit with immediate effect.

She was asked to vacate her office following investigations into her alleged involvement in some power play and corruption at the EC.

EOCO Boss, ACP Mr. K.K. Amoah (rtd) together with a joint armed Police Officers trooped into her office while she was there to rout her out.

Mrs. Opoku Amankwah blatantly refused to be driven out from her office because to her, she doesn't understand why she alone was being forced out when all the Commissioners under investigation have been coming to work.

Addressing the issue on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Nana Ofori Owusu noted that the woman's bravery is worth commending because her return to the office has propelled the EOCO to prepare an adequate response to her which she wasn't getting since she went home.

He told sit-in host Nana Yaw Kesseh that he "liked it" that the Deputy EC Commissioner didn't cringe to the intimidation of the EOCO.

He believed the Deputy EC Commissioner took the bold action to go back to her office because she felt singled out when she and the other Commissioners were all under investigation but they were allowed to be in their offices.

To Nana Ofori Owusu, the woman's action has strengthened the country's democracy.
