The National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has indicated he will do all he can to ensure President John Mahama contests the 2020 elections.
Even though critics have urged the outgoing president to give up his ambitions to contest again for the presidency, Mr. Adams holds a different opinion, insisting that Mr. Mahama is the best that the party possesses.
He told Kwadwo Asare-Baffour Acheampong on Asempa FM’s ‘Ekosii Sen’ on Tuesday January 3 that he will not agree to a decision by Mr. Mahama not to contest again.
“If he decides not to run for elections, I will be disappointed…I will mobilise people against that,” he stated.
For Mr. Adams, the outgoing president represents the NDC’s best chances of returning to power in 2020 when the next general elections will be held.
