Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong on Thursday, March 14, 2019, lost his cool at the North Campus of the University of Education Winneba and descended into the galleries after being infuriated by the Central Regional Police Commander, MyNewsGh.com has gathered.

A video in possession of MyNewsGh.com revealed the lawmaker was not enthused about a comment made by the Central Regional Police Commander DCOP Paul Manly Awini and nearly engaged in fisticuffs with the officer of the law but for the timely intervention of those around.

Mr. Kennedy Agapong in the company of Member of Parliament (MP) for Efutu Constituency in the Central region, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin was at the institution to quell the escalating tension between students and the Vice Chancellor Reverend Father Prof Anthony Afful-Broni.

Following reports of a sporadic firing of warning shots that further heightened the tension earlier, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) firebrand tried questioning the motive behind the conduct of the police but the commander made a passing comment that did not sit well with Mr. Kennedy Agyapong who immediately went ballistic.

He was heard saying “What is that you are doing? If you play the fool they will remove your clothes” while angrily heading towards where the police chief who was standing opposite where he was but the others restrained him amidst shouts from the students in support of the action of Mr Kennedy Agyapong.

It would be recalled the maverick politicians in January this year in similar fashion had a brawl with Muntaka Mubarak on the floor of parliament over a request made by the latter he should be referred to the privileges committee over Ahmed Suale’ murder.

The encounter between the two ‘enemy MPs’ was recorded from the public gallery of parliament via phone by a lady who posted it on social media.

In the 31-second video obtained by MyNewsGh.com, the two lawmakers were seen in heated verbal exchanges in Twi amidst threats while colleagues tried to calm the situation by dragging the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central away.

While Muntaka insulted Kennedy Agyapong in Twi as an animal and a ‘foolish good-for-nothing’, Kennedy vowed to make Muntaka uncomfortable in Ghana. “Wo ye aboa-ba, gyimi gyimii” Muntaka shouted at Kennedy Agyapong as the NPP MP was being restrained.
