Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has promised to make Ghana a very prosperous nation when voted into power in the 2016 general election.
He expressed worry that many Ghanaians currently cannot send their wards to school due to joblessness saying the “health insurance is also collapsing making life very difficult for many Ghanaians”.
Nana Addo made these remarks in Tamale on Saturday as part of his ‘rise and build’ tour which has already him to some parts of the country where he has been meeting regional and constituency executives of the party to strategise on the campaign towards Election 2016.
The flagbearer, who is spending two days in the region, said the NPP needs to win the 2016 elections in order to build good roads, agricultural and health systems that would ensure that many Ghanaians live comfortable lives.
He said the NPP has the first class and competent men and women who would rule the country in a capable way such that issues of corruption and mismanagement associated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would not happen.
“We are not going to steal the resources of the nation like the NDC has done because we have honest men and women who will not steal from the purse of the nation.”
Nana Addo said the country needs a new electoral register that would make the upcoming elections credible explaining that the Nigerian electoral register was equally bloated but was changed before their elections.
He said Ghana needs to replace its electoral register to bring peace and unity into the country.
He said the country does not want to experience similar situation as happened soon after the 2012 elections where the NPP challenged the results in court.
