Ho, Aug 25, GNA - Mr Idrissu Egala, aspiring National Chairman of the Convention Peoples' Party (CPP), has said the party's internal structures would be re-structured and rejuvenated to meet the test of modernity when given the mandate.
He said issues of the youth and women would be high on its agenda considering the crucial role they play in facilitating development. Mr Egala was speaking to newsmen during the party's Volta Regional Delegates' conference at the weekend.
He said women would be given their proper role to justify their numerical strength and correct the gender imbalance, currently existing in the party.
Mr Egala said he would launch a vigorous education campaign in schools, especially the tertiary institutions, on the ideals and philosophy of the party to serve as a breeding ground for would-be Nkrumaists. Mr Ekow Duncan, an aspiring National Treasurer, said personal wealth should not be an affront to holding public offices.
He said the essential attribution should be one's ability to tap and network available resources both in and outside the country for the party's re-structuring efforts.
Mr Duncan promised to use the party's international stature to source for funds and evolve links beneficial to their course.
