Independent Parliamentary candidate for the Klottey Korle constituency, Nii Noi Nortey has said he is unfazed by competition from his opponents in the parliamentary election.

Nii Noi Nortey who was upbeat about his chances in the December polls labelled himself as the Klottey Korle’s ‘street boy’ adding that his works would secure him the votes of constituents in the impending elections.

The independent parliamentary candidate defected from the New Patriotic Party early this year after an acrimonious primary in which he lost to Lawyer Philip Addison.

“What pushed me into politics is the zeal I have to serve and represent my people and I don’t think the people in the constituency belong to one political party.

Even when I was NPP chairman, I was working across board with everybody….Irrespective of whichever party you belong to, if you are supposed to get help it’s supposed to come to you. It’s not supposed to be discriminatory….there’s no political party if the people are not involved."

Nii Noi Nortey went on a door-to-door campaign in parts of the constituency to urge the electorate to elect him as parliamentary candidate for the constituency.

He interacted with traders and business owners at Tudu and other areas.

He also visited the homes of some residents where he interacted with them and assured them of better livelihoods if they voted him into power.

The other parliamentary candidates for Klottey Korle constituency are Philip Addison (NPP), Zanetor Rawlings (NDC) and Godwin Opare Addo (CPP).
