Running mate of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh says he is confident Ghanaians will vote to retain NPP in power.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh expressed this optimism while speaking to Chiefs and party supporters at Anum Apapam in the Ayensuano constituency of the Eastern Region as part of his constituency campaign tour.

The Ayensuano seat is coming back home as the people of Anum Apapam and other communities stand in their resolve to safeguard the gains made in Free SHS, electricity stability, the construction of more schools, Agenda 111 and many other initiatives.

"The people are resolute without a shred of doubt that the leader Ghana needs in this defining moment is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. They are not only committed to campaigning for him but they will also vote overwhelmingly in his favour and through hard work, Ida Adjoa Asiedu, is heading to Parliament on the NPP's ticket."

Dr. Opoku Prempeh believes the Ayensuano apart from the party's traditional strongholds would play a key role in securing victory for the NPP.

He urged Ghanaians to compare the track records of the two main political parties, the New Patriotic Party and National Democratic Congress, before they decide who to vote for on December 7.

NAPO, as he is affectionately called, further took a swipe at former President John Mahama stressing he achieved nothing meaningful for the country under his regime.

He noted that, unlike the Mahama government, the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration has in seven and half years laid a good foundation to transform Ghana, adding this is a record that the opposition NDC under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama has struggled to achieve.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh also emphasized that the NPP has initiated numerous social intervention policies to cater for the basic needs of Ghanaians; some of which he listed are the Free SHS, Capitation Grant and the School Feeding Programme.

Present at the event was the Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, who called for massive support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP parliamentary candidate, Ida Adwoa Asiedu.
