The Overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Naa Abukari Mahama II has personally broken his silence over wild rumors on various social media platforms especially Facebook that he is dead.

According to the respected King who addressed some elders who visited him at his private residence in Accra on Wednesday, he is not dead as claimed and is not even afraid to die because he is a true Muslim and believes that every individual will die someday no matter what, so he does not fear death.

He assured his subjects he is not dying soon though death is inevitable stressing that he will live long enough to lead the people of Dagbon and achieve his the targets he has set for himself.

To this end, he entreated the people of Dagbon to disregard rumours about his death and rally behind him to make Dagbon prosper.

Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Sa-eed had earlier dispelled the rumors that the Paramount Chief of Dagbon Traditional Area, Yaa Naa Abukrai Mahama II was dead. He disclosed to MyNewsGh.com a while ago that the information making the rounds on various social media platforms is untrue and a fiction of someone’s imagination insisting the overlord is hale and hearty.

“I was at his private residence a while ago in Accra to see how he is doing and we even laughed over the misinformation. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the King and I urge all residents of Dagbon to treat the information with the contempt it deserves “, he revealed.

Reports had earlier suggested the Ya-Naa fell ill and was flown to Accra on Monday April 15, 2019 for treatment with contrary reports suggesting he has died.

But the Minister revealed that the King came to Accra on his routine medical checkup reiterating that there is no substance in what is being peddled on social media because he even delayed as a result of the coronation of his sub-chiefs.

His Royal Majesty Ya-Naa Abukari Mahama II became substantive Ya-Naa the Gbewaa Palace on Friday January 25, 2019 with dignitaries including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former President John Dramani Mahama, Members of Parliament, and Chiefs, current past appointees of government in attendance.
