Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi has revealed that he is least bothered if he is captured in the second part of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ undercover investigations on illegal mining dubbed ‘Galamsey Fraud”, calling it ‘nonsense’, MyNewsGh.com reports.

According to him, he is not a government functionary to be worried he could be fired insisting that nobody can arrest him even if he decides to engage in mining which was his mainstay prior to becoming Chairman of the ruling party in its world bank.

“Kwame, if Anas premieres his second video and I am captured in it what will he do to me? Can he arrest me or what can he do to me? Kwame tell him Chairman Wontumi says he should take his nonsense away”, he disclosed to Kwame Adinkra on Kumasi-based Pure Fm.

He challenged Anas to drag those he has already captured in the first video to the police for prosecution since the laws of the country allows for citizen’s arrest in such instances if he trusts his evidence.

“If you have arrested someone who is engaged in galamsey take him to the police station. He is playing with the minds of people. It is a citizen arrest take them to the police but let him know that both the giver and receiver of the bribe are all guilty”, he disclosed.

Asked what his reaction would be if it turns out that he is captured in the part two of what has already the undercover investigations, he reiterated “If Wontumi is in the second video nothing will happen? Am I a government appointee or do I work with any government agency? If I want to engage in mining I will go ahead and nobody can stop me. Anas or anybody cannot dare stop me. But let him know that since 2013 when my equipment were burnt, I have not engage in mining,” he revealed.
