I'm not broke - Odike rants

The Founder and Flag bearer of United Progressive Party (UPP) Mr. Kwesi Addae popularly known as Odike has dispelled allegations that he is low on funds and is seeking money from the ruling government.

Odike described himself as a self -made person and that he acquired money years before majority of politicians entered into politics.

"I can boldly say I was ahead in life than most of the big wigs in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), and Jerry John Rawlings’ regime up to now, before they entered politics. If I haven’t been elected into government it doesn’t mean I am low on funds and looking for money from the government. I have been a self- made person long ago," a livid Odike explained.

He alleged that about 99% of upcoming politicians borrowed money from him to run their campaigns.

"About 99% of them didn’t have toilet rolls when they were coming including NPP top officials who came to borrow money from me…let me portray Odike’s image to you if you don’t know me that well. I started making money at the age of fourteen. I was a schoolboy then …make Ghanaians aware that the name Odike they are trying to drag into the gutters was blessed from a very young age."

"I’m the one who introduced the shoe business to Ghana and that influenced a lot of businessmen and women to venture into it. I’m the second person who brought a machine to open a secondhand shoe factory at Atonsu…you wouldn’t know until I tell you, they are Made in Ghana shoes…I have large farmlands in this country on which people are working," he asserted.

Speaking on Nhyira FM he revealed that he along with some people helped Ex-President J.A Kufuor to win power in 2000.

"Yes we campaigned and contributed for them. They should desist from spreading false rumours, they are giving Ghanaians about Odike that he is a liar and a lazy person who wants to come into power if not I will expose them," he threatened.

The Flag bearer of UPP indicated that politicians who insult him and spew allegations about him do have basis.

"Well when someone is tarnishing your image they go the extreme to achieve their aim. The people saying I go around borrowing money are the same people incite young people to talk against me and insult me on radio stations. These false allegations against me won’t break me, because I have a vision for this country," he claimed.
