The flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has indicated that he has no part to play in the 2016 Fetu Afahye festival of the Oguaa people in the Central Region.

Dr Nduom, in a statement on Monday August 8, pointed out that: “I wish to inform the Ghanaian public that I am not involved nor am I connected with preparations towards the 2016 Oguaa. I have not met nor held any discussions with the Oguaa Omanhene or the Afahye Planning Committee or anyone even remotely connected with the festival.”

The statement explained that Dr Nduom had no business with the owners of Cape FM or its management and had not been in talks with them with regards to the Orange Friday event.

“I am busy minding my own business – Groupe Nduom and Progressive People's Party campaign,” the three-time presidential aspirant added.

Dr Nduom, who is currently on a regional campaign tour, explained that he had high respect for Oguaa culture and traditions as well as the elders, youth, and everyone in Cape Coast. “I am from the Oguaa sister town of Edina. Therefore, I will not and cannot do anything to disrupt such an important festival,” he said, adding: “Those, who for political reasons want to drag my name into anything potentially negative going on in Cape Coast must cease and desist from such attempts as they will not succeed”.

“I wish the chiefs and people of the Oguaa Traditional Area an enjoyable and successful Fetu Afahye festival,” he concluded.
