Enos Adepah trained Abdul Fataw Safiu at Techiman Eleven Wonders in the 2018 Ghana premier league before the striker joined Asante Kotoko last month.
But Safiu a former Inter Allies striker who has also played in the MLS for Portland Timbers struggled to make impact in Kotoko’s friendly matches ultimately resulting in his failure to make the 18-man list for the first leg away tie at Kariobangi Sharks.
‘When I saw the list I was not surprised he failed to make the cut because I think C.K Akonnor and his team know better. The coach decided on the list of 18 players and so not all players can go in there’ he told FootballmadeinGhana.com on Friday.
‘I think there are equally good strikers in the team and so it is for Safiu to work harder. It was Akonnor that signed him as he was convinced the player was a good material. He (Safiu) has to work harder to win a place.’ he concluded.
