A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) legal team, Lawyer Abraham Amaliba has denied that he suggested on an Accra based radio station, Joy FM, that Justice Dotse who is a member of the panel of judges at the Supreme Court sitting on the election petition was a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“I indicated that all the justices are connected with one person or the other and one person or the other could be a natural person and could be an artificial person. And so if that is what justice Dotse who I didn’t mention his name thought that I meant; what I actually meant is that if we are going to go on that tangent, where the NPP is raising objection to one of the members of the panel because he is connected to Dr. Raymond Atuguba.”

Lawyer Amaliba said he further added that “in the same vein none of the justices would be able to sit because they are also connected in one way or the other to any person or persons and it could be an individual or it could be a political party.”

“And I said that if they go on that tangent then the Supreme Court will not sit, don’t forget that this comment came as a result of the objection that the NPP raised and I did not mention justice Dotse’s name,” he retorted.

Justice Dotse vehemently denied allegations that he was a member of the New Patriotic Party on Wednesday in open court when the court sat to hear the NDC’s motion for joinder to the NPP’s petition seeking to nullify the declaration of John Mahama as winner of the December polls.

He told the court, he has never been a member of the NPP.
