The Lawyers for Mr Emmanuel Ashiabi, a member of the National Democratic Congress has petitioned the Constituency Secretary of the Party in the Agotime-Ziope Constituency against the alleged forgery of his signature.

Mr David Kwame Dzreke, a Parliamentary Aspirant at Agotime-Ziope Constituency has been accused of forging the signature of Mr Ashiabe.

A petition signed by Emile Atsu Agbakpe, one of the Lawyers for Mr Ashiabi, contended that their client was informed that his signature has appeared in the nomination form of the Parliamentary Aspirant.

The petition indicated that, the petitioner does not know or ever met the said Aspirant before, and has not endorsed his nomination form as a representative of the Constituency.

“Our client says that his signature was forged, which is criminal and he is seriously offended by that conduct,” the petition added.

The Lawyers said they have been instructed to inform and protest to the Constituency Secretary that the Aspirant has allegedly forged the signature with intention to defraud and evade the requirements in clause e (2) of the guidelines for election of the Party’s Parliamentary Candidates for the 2016 Parliamentary Election.

Mr Dzreke in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said he was not aware of any petition against him, adding that,"My brother l do not want to comment on this issue.”
