A former board member of Ghana Energy Commission has revealed that he voluntary stepped down from the commissions’ board due to the endemic corruption in the activities of the state institution.

The maverick politician, Charles Kofi Wayo who was appointed to the board by the late President of Ghana, Professor J.E.A Mills disclosed that the commission is a useless entity which the member only seek financial interest rather than working to help to deal with energy issues in the country.

Mr Charles Kofi Wayo said members of the commission are stark illiterates when it comes to energy issues. He noted that the only thing members of the commission does is to organize conferences and meetings in order to take huge allowances.

On the current energy crisis, Kofi Wayo stated bluntly that President Mahama cannot do anything in solving it. He said the engineers in the power sector keep lying to the President which has led him to give what he describes as empty promises. Charles Kofi Wayo spoke on Rainbow Radio 87.5
