The estranged wife of the late founder of Resurrection Power New Generation, Rev. Dr. Anthony Kwadwo Boakye, has said she is still in disbelief about her husband’s death.
In a tribute shared on Facebook to her late husband, Rev. Mrs. Margaret Boakye said that she could not believe her eyes when she saw him in the hospital a year and 14 days after he took ill and was admitted at a hospital.
“It’s been 1 year 4 months since you took ill, with the hope in Our Lord Jesus to restore your health fully. Kwadwo, mi Kaakyire, I still don’t believe you’ve gone to be with the Lord.
“The last time (6th February 2023) I saw you in the hospital after 1 year 14 days, ‘ooooh how I wish time stood still,’ the affirmative and affection showed confirmed many things to me,” she wrote.
Rev. Mrs Margaret Boakye also said that she is of the hope that all the legacies of her late husband would continue to inspire many.
She also prayed the soul of Rev. Anthony Boakye to ask God to truly strengthen her in these trying times.
“Kaakyire, Daa you have fought a good fight, brought revival via crusades and stood for righteousness, this! am sure your Father Lord and The Host of Angels welcomes you in dignity.
“I’m sure your legacy through unadulterated teachings will continue to rebuke, reprove and exhort many. Tell Your Master to strengthen me continue via this legacy. Rest well my love, till we meet again,” she concluded.
I reverse my sickness to you and your entire generation – Rev. Boakye rains curses on wife, family
Earlier, GhanaWeb reported that the founder and leader of Resurrection Power New Generation Ministries, Reverend Anthony Kwadwo Boakye, had rained curses on his wife, Reverend Mrs. Anthony Boakye, and her family.
According to a livid Rev. Anthony Boakye, he saw a deliberate attempt by his wife and her brother, Reverend Johnson Kwasi Oware, to cause him public ridicule.
The ailing pastor, who had been away from the pulpit for over nine months in a video sighted by GhanaWeb, prayed that his sickness be transferred to his wife and her generation.
“He has insulted me on three occasions, to which I did not respond. This sickness that has inflicted me, I reverse it to you and your children for the rest of your life. Akwasi, you should take my sickness for the rest of your life. Yaa Asantewaa, take my sickness, you and your children. Have it for the rest of your life. You are seeking to disgrace me,” Reverend Boakye said while addressing his church members from a remote location virtually.
The outburst by the church leader followed a confrontation between his wife and the leaders of the church over money belonging to the church.
A few weeks earlier, the power struggle between the wife of the church founder, Reverend Mrs. Anthony Boakye, and the leaders of Resurrection Power New Generation Ministries, reached a new height when members of the church contributed towards the payment of his white car.
While condemning his sister's actions, Reverend Oware explained that the entire episode was set up by a cartel of church leaders to disgrace his sister.
“I don’t regard you as a pastor anymore. I will only call you a pastor if my tongue slips. Everyone should call her Yaa Asantewaa,” Rev Boakye admonished his church.
