National Organiser of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, has dismissed media reports that he has been appointed campaign coordinator for the 2016 elections

Reports had earlier indicated Kofi Adams, who is also the National Organiser of the ruling party, will spearhead the party's main campaign team between the presidency and the party going into this year's polls.

Some online portals claim Mr Adams was appointed a fortnight ago but was only given the green light a couple of days ago by the National Executive arm of the party.

The report further claimed, the former Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, will be central to the operations and success of the party’s campaign, supervising fundraising if possible, as well as field activities. He is also expected to manage public communications of the party and ensure all campaign activities around the president comply with the party’s regulations.

But when Peacefmonline.com reached the NDC's National Organiser for confirmation of the news, a clearly surprised Kofi Adams said, the report "is news to me." He, however, indicated that should the party hierarchy settle on him as the Campaign Coordinator for this year's crucial polls, he is ever-ready for the task ahead.

His speculative appointment notwithstanding, Peacefmonline can, however, authoritatively confirm that the ruling NDC will unveil its full campaign team in the coming weeks; barring any unforeseen circumstances, before this month (July) ends.
