Resigned Power minister Dr. Kwabena Donkor has conceded that his seemingly frosty relationship with the Media while in office affected him.

Donkor who was in charge of the Power ministry for almost a year tendered his resignation letter to the President on December 31, 2015, after he failed to deliver on his promise of ending the power crisis which had bedeviled the country for 3 years.

Government sources however said he was compelled to leave the post by the Presidency following his poor handling of communications regarding the supposed ending of the crisis.

Meanwhile, the President in his State of the Nation address Thursday commended Donkor and his team for helping to stabilize power supply in the country.

“I salute the former Power Minister Dr. Kwabena Donkor, and his Deputy Minister John Jinapor and their team of competent technical people,” Mahama stated.

Speaking to Starr News, Mr Donkor said he has come to the realization that he could have done better with his media relations.

“In retrospect, I could have handled the media better. I naively believed focusing on the job and the deliverables and not talking to the media was the best but on hindsight, I think I should have handled relations with the media well ... I could have handled things better”.
