Prof. Joshua Alabi, a flagbearer aspirant has shared his experience at the recently held vetting of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The NDC held its vetting on Tuesday where all seven flagbearer aspirants faced the party’s vetting panel.

The seven are former President John Mahama, Alban Bagbin, Ekwow Spio Garbrah, Nurudeen Iddrisu, Prof. Joshua Alabi, Sylvester Mensah and Goosie Tanoh.

Mr Alabi, having a one-on-one discussion with sit-in host of Peace FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’; Nana Yaw Kesse, said even though he was ‘pushed’ by the committee with a lot of questions, ‘he excelled’.

“The vetting was friendly and interesting…I really enjoyed myself there. The executives did a good job. They pushed me and I excelled….”

Leadership abilities

Prof Alabi said his ability to lead the party cannot be questioned because he has gathered a lot of experiences over the years and “with my good leadership skills, when I am elected, there will be a difference in leadership”.

According to him, "leadership is not only about the leader but it includes the people. So as a leader, you need a vision and get people to understand it and to stand with you. With this about 40 percent of your work is done…if you don’t do this, you will fail as a leader”.
