Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate elect for Adenten Constituency in the Greater Accra Region has revealed that he literally wept over his hard fought victory.

Speaking to the media after the Electoral Commission announced him as winner over Former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur, he observed that this was one of his toughest contest as the vanquished gave him a run for his money.

“I got emotional when the results were declared because it is a testimony that our party would always reward hard work and loyalty. We are going to fight hard and take the seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP)”, he told the media in his post-election interview covered by MyNewsGh.com.

In his estimation, the primary was one of his toughest in any political contest yet he was able to sail through envisaging that his victory will be replicated in the 2020 general elections in order to snatch the seat from the NPP.

“With all honesty this primaries was more difficult and keener than what I had anticipate would happen in the general elections…so if with the help of God we have been able to go through this one, I am very confident that come December 7, 2020 would be declared winner and Member of Parliament (MP) elect for Adenta Constituency”, he added.

According to him, once the primary is over it is time for the party to come together and wrestle the seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) adding that work starts.

“We are serving notice to the NPP that the journey to recapture the Adenta seat has started tonight and I like to thank all of you”, he added.

Nana Oye lost to Samira Bawumia’s brother, Mr Adamu Ramadan in the Adentan constituency hoping to win and represent the NDC in the 2020 election.

She was humbled after polling 558 votes as against the winner who polled 730 votes making him the ultimate winner.
