The Deputy Managing Director of the Agriculture Development Bank, Alhaji Alhassan Yakubu Tali, also known as Nawaana has told The Voiceless Media that he will not be contesting the NPP primaries slated for April 25, 2020, in the Tolon Constituency.

The Deputy Managing Director of the ADB was rumoured to be nursing the ambition to contest the Tolon primaries of the NPP but he has now told the Voiceless Media categorically and in no uncertain terms that he will not be contesting this time.

He indicated that he will work towards consolidating the gains of the NPP in the Tolon Constituency come election 2020.

It must be stated that Alhaji Yakubu Tali contested the NPP primaries in the Tolon Constituency on two occasions and was beaten by 20 votes in the last Parliamentary Primaries of the NPP in 2015 by Alhaji Wahabu Suhuyin, the current MP of the area.

The astute Banker is a formidable pillar in the Tolon Constituency and his role in the next election activities in the constituency will impact positively on the fortunes of the NPP.

Five persons namely Alhaji Habib Iddrisu of the Ghana Freezones Authority, Alhaji Baako Jagbo of the GRA, Hajia Amama Sayibu, former Northern Regional Women's Organiser of the NPP, Mr Zakaria Alhassan an accountant by training and Hon Wahabu Suhuyini the incumbent MP have all picked nomination forms to contest the primaries.

Irrespective of who wins the internal primaries on April 25, unity and all hands-on deck shall be crucial in retaining the seat for the NPP.

The Voiceless Media is keenly monitoring the Tolon Constituency and will bring further updates to our readers.
