I will provide 'free' exercise books to SHS ttudents - Deputy Minister

Deputy Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs who doubles as a Member of Parliament for Jomoro constituency in the Western Region, Hon Paul Essien has pledged to provide free exercise books to Secondary school students in the Jomoro Constituency.

He highlighted that this exercise or initiative forms part of President Nana Addo's free SHS policy for 2017/2018 academic year.

Speaking at a Thanksgiving service for his ministerial appointment organized at Tikobo No.1 in the Jomoro District, Hon Paul Essien who is a native of the town and former assembly member of 'Tikobo Number One' assured parents in the District that President Nana Addo is very committed to kick start the free SHS policy this academic year in September.

He said this free SHS policy is a meritorious and it will help parents especially the less privilege ones to save money to live better.

Hon Paul Essien used the occasion to expressed his gratitude to God for given him life and protection throughout his endeavour.

He also gave special gratitude to President Nana Addo for given him a great opportunity to serve the country especially as Deputy Religious and Chieftaincy Minister.

Hon Paul Essien reaffirmed his commitment to provide jobs for the unemployed youths in the Jomoro District.

He said "Within my four years as an MP, I'm going to give awards to deserving and hardworking teachers, farmers, nurses and security men in the Jomoro District"

He further added that "My free remedial classes for secondary schools students has started and I urge everybody to visit my office for registration", Hon Paul Essien stressed.

Hon Paul Essien acknowledged the immense support of the Chiefs, the entire Nzema people, the NPP Acting western Regional Chairman Mr Francis Ndede Siah, Assembly Members, the NPP constituency executives in the three Nzema constituencies namely; Jomoro, Ellembelle and Evalue Ajomoro Gwira.

During the occasion, the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Hon Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi who was the special guest for the occasion applauded the people of Jomoro constituency for their total support they gave to Hon Paul Essien during the 2016 elections.

He appealed to the people of Jomoro and Nzema as a whole to support Hon Paul Essien to bring more developments into Nzemaland.

"Hon Paul Essien is a very hardworking deputy minister and I'm going to work tirelessly with him", Hon Kofi Dzamesi assured.

The week celebration and thanksgiving service of the Deputy Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs was very colourful and climaxed by a football match played between two local based stars teams in the District namely:Tikobo No. 1 Football Club and Allowulley Football Club.

The football match ended amicably and was won by Tikobo No.1 by a goal difference.

Hon Paul Essien presented a giant silver trophy and an undisclosed amount to the winning team.

The NPP candidate of Ellembelle Hon Kwasi Bonzo, Western Regional Secretary of NPP and a Presidential Staffer Mr Charles Bissue, Western Regional Youth Organizer Mr Yaw Amoabeng and other guests joined Hon Paul Essein to climaxed the celebration.
