India Prime Minister ?tal Bihari Vajpayee has promised to visit Ghana in the not too distant future.
After a bilateral meeting with President John Kufour, Vajpayee promised the Ghana president that he would soon visit his country. The Indian prime minister was to have visited Ghana on his way to Nigeria but cancelled the trip at the eleventh hour.
However, the two leaders agreed that the Indian-financed Kofi Annan Centre in IT and Communication Technology that was to be inaugurated by the prime minister during the visit would be declared open as scheduled on Tuesday.
The prime minister also consented to a request to release the remaining part of a $45 million credit-line for Ghana announced during Kufour's visit earlier this year for rural electrification.
The first segment, amounting to $15 million, has already been released.
