Leader of the Osofo Kyiri Abosom Ministries and founder of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Osofo Kyiri Abosom, has stated that he would not hesitate to set his political party aside in favour of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) if President John Dramani Mahama continues to deliver.

In an interview shared on X on November 19, 2025, he explained that his stance is influenced by President Mahama’s current leadership style.

According to him, the president’s performance so far is commendable, and if Mahama maintains this trajectory, he will willingly suspend his party activities and support the NDC.

“He has done very well, and I am happy with his style of leadership. What he is doing right now will help the country. If John Mahama can continue his good work, I will put GUM on hold during election time and join the NDC,” he said.

Osofo Kyiri Abosom also called for constitutional reforms that could extend President Mahama’s tenure to a third term.

“If we can change the constitution for Mahama to rule for a third term, I will be happy. I even pray that he will have the strength to continue the third term because I want Ghana to develop.”

He further disclosed that he previously belonged to both major political parties.

“I was an NDC member during Jerry John Rawlings’ time until I switched to the NPP during Kufuor’s era. I was an NPP card-bearing member and even campaigned for Akufo-Addo, but I switched when his administration began to underperform,” he added.
