Inspector General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu has been replaced by his deputy, James Oppong-Boanuh as he proceeds on leave pending his retirement from the Ghana Police Service.
A letter from the Presidency and signed by Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin directed that Mr. Asante-Apeatu takes leave with immediate effect ahead of his retirement on Wednesday, 14th August, 2019.
Mr. Asante-Apeatu was acknowledged for his many years of service to the country and wished him well in his retirement.
Till a substantive IGP is appointed, the President has asked the Deputy Inspector General of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh, to act as acting IGP.
