The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has released a new load shedding guide for consumers to cater for power generation shortfalls.
The February 6 to March 5 schedule will see demarcated areas go off from 6:00am to 7:00pm in the day and from 6:00pm to 6:00am in the night.
While some areas go off, others have been put on stand-by "and may or may not go off, depending on the quantum of power to be shed."
The country currently sheds 650 megawatts during peak periods and 440 megawatts during off-peak hours.
Special institutions such as hospitals and airports are exempt from the exercise.
Attached above is a copy of the new load shedding timetable.
