The Institute of Paralegal Training and Leadership Studies has held a graduation ceremony for graduates of Professional Executive Master in General Paralegal Studies on 7th September 2019.
Mr Alex Nartey , a Lecturer of the Institute who represented the Governing Council of IPLS congratulated the graduands for investing time and financial resources in the acquisition of knowledge which is very relevant in the promotion of access to justice to our citizens.
“ Paralegal Professionals are very important in our justice system and we are encouraged by the growing interest of people with diverse professional backgrounds who are sacrificing time and financial resources to be trained as professional Paralegal Practitioners”, he told the graduands.
Mr Alex Nartey advised the graduands to act in accordance with the ethics of the Paralegal profession and not to engage in actions which would undermine the standards of the Paralegal profession . “ You have been trained to perform your duties as Paralegal Professionals and you must act with integrity to reflect the training you have received from IPLS “ , he told the graduands .
Other Lecturers of IPLS such as Mrs Kezia Kenneth Azumah , Mr Anthony Addy and Mr Linus Dzatashie commended the graduating students and stressed on the importance of continuous learning , building of a network among themselves and performing their duties based on the ethics of the Paralegal profession.
Ms Rachel Naabia Boateng , the President of the 2019 Batch of Professional Executive Master in General Paralegal Studies ( PEMGPS) in her address at the graduation ceremony requested IPLS to support the efforts in the building of a strong Paralegal Professional Association in Ghana . Mr Alex Nartey responded to the speech of the representative of the graduating students by assuring them of the commitment of IPLS to work towards the building of a strong Paralegal professional association.
Rev. Dorcas Koomson , Mrs Naomi Acquah, Ms Rachel Naabia Boateng , Mr Tamakloe and Ms Amma Dedaa Gyimah presented some swivel chairs to the institute on behalf of the graduating students.
IPLS is a private training and development institute and operates under the laws of Ghana and dedicated to the development and promotion of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) , human rights , Paralegal Studies and capacity enhancement programmes .
IPLS recently won an Education Community Award (EDUCOM award ) which is an award given to organizations and institutes that had made positive contributions within the education community .
