More than 100 students studying Computer Science and other relevant courses at the Valley View University (VVU) have benefited from a day’s capacity building workshop on various modules of Information Technology (IT).
The workshop, organised on gratis by Information Security Architects (ISA) on the theme, “Industrial Intelligence,” was aimed at equipping the students with relevant skills in the areas of Networking and Information Security to enhance their career development proficiency in IT practice.
The one-day session also witnessed presentation on System Development and Security awareness as well as live practical demonstrations, exhibitions and interactive engagements to enable participating students acquire in-depth knowledge of hi-tech digital applications.
The Chief Executive Officer of ISA, Mr. Desmond Israel, who was the lead resource person, underscored the need for IT students to be abreast with evolving technological trend and innovation in the space of digitization. He urged the students to treat with great esteem, lessons taught by their lecturers, while encouraging them to regularly explore and associate themselves with devices that would broaden their horizon in IT proficiency.
“Evolution in technology has become tremendous, making it difficult for students to stay on track. It is therefore important for you as students to consistently explore and measure up with applications in this era of evolving trend in digitisation, particularly as you develop yourself as industry players,” Mr. Israel emphasised.
He also expressed appreciation to the Computer Science Students Association (COSSA) of Valley View University for its collaborative effort in the organisation of the training workshop.
In his presentation and practical demonstration on the functions of “Information Infrastructure and Architecture”, an Information Security and Assurance Privacy Specialist, Mr. Albert Seshie, noted that it is imperative for every practitioner to be conversant with the protocols regulating the functions of the network organisational structure, noting that, this architecture serves as a support system for the functioning of information flow and control processes.
He urged the students to engage themselves in a wide range of research and practical sessions to enable them integrate information system into development life cycle from product design to delivery to end user.
